Hort Tech, Inc. provides landscape maintenance for homeowner associations, individual residences and small businesses within the most prestigious communities in the Coachella Valley.
Hort Tech was started by Jack Kerns in 1987 with the vision of providing landscape services catering to the specific needs of this unique desert community. The company had grown to over 130 employees maintaining approximately 450 different properties over its 25 plus years. Jack had interviewed with multiple M&A advisory and business brokerage firms and ultimately chose Keystone Business Advisors led by Dave Richards.
Dave and the Keystone team targeted multiple strategic buyers and ultimately reached an agreement with Bryan Jensen of Jensen Landscaping, Inc. Dave helped craft a 1-year transition plan which enabled the Jack to capture a strong enterprise value strong while providing Bryan the confidence that a successful transition would ensue by minimizing disruption and achieving a strong customer retention as a result.
