Business Sales, Mergers & Acquisitions
Whether you are a Buyer or a Seller, we'll guide you through the entire process. Our Sellers can expect that we know how to analyze their business to present it effectively and to maximize its value. Our Buyers can expect that we will present business opportunities accurately, while keeping their goals in mind.

Business Valuations
Our services range from the free brokers opinion of value to a formal valuation report for the owners of closely held businesses. The different types of business valuations offered in collaboration with a qualified third party are as follows:

  • Broker's Opinion of Value: The Value Analysis is a limited scope business valuation designed specifically for the "Main Street" business with sales of $1,000,000 or less. The basis of this valuation is discretionary cash flow, since most main street businesses are bought and sold on a multiple of discretionary cash flow. We typically use three different market based approaches to assess value. No investment required.
  • Formal Valuation: The Formal Valuation is also a limited scope business valuation intended for businesses with sales between $1,000,000 and $30,000,000. The report heavily emphasizes ratios, trends and common size analysis. A discounted future cash flow model is also included. We can refer you to qualified independent third party business valuation experts depending on the complexity and scope of the valuation.

Loan Referrals - SBA, Conventional, Other
We recognize that with business values rising and the current state of the economy and credit markets, arranging external financing is becoming increasingly important. We maintain close relationships with local and national financing sources that can meet the needs of both Buyers and Sellers.  Additionally, we can guide you through every step of the process, saving valuable time and expense.

Business Consulting
We work with many of our clients to help prepare their business for sale one to three years in advance. Advance planning is important to make sure your business is performing well when marketing your business for sale.  We offer consulting services to help address key questions that impact value such as;

  • How accurately are income and expenses shown on the business tax returns?
  • Is there a strong management team in place?
  • Are there transferable contracts in place with key/customers and suppliers?
  • Are there documented policies and procedures?
  • How likely will the customers remain with the business?
