The intermediaries at Keystone Business Advisors have all had experience in buying, selling and/or operating their own businesses before becoming business intermediaries. We understand the process of buying and selling and the emotional stress that it can have on both the buyer and seller. We work closely with both parties to make the transition process as smooth and pleasant as possible.
We take the time to walk each prospective buyer through the total buying process which includes matching them with a business that fits the profile information that they provide to us. Our goal is to show a buyer only those listings that fit their interests and talents as well as their budget. Sellers can be assured that our goal is to show their business only to those who appear to be financially capable to make them an offer. Both parties ultimately win and save time by taking this approach.

Dave Richards, CBI
President & Business Intermediary
Dave Richards is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) and a licensed California Real Estate Broker with a comprehensive background in business sales, mergers & acquisitions and business valuation. Dave started his business brokerage career in the middle of 2003 selling businesses for one of the largest business brokerage firms in the world. At the end of 2004, he founded Keystone Business Advisors with the objective of continuing to assist small business owners in the sale of their business as well as specialize in mid-sized companies with market values between $1 million to $20 million. Dave and his team assist business owners who are ready to go to market with preparing an opinion of value, creating the confidential offering memorandum to market the business, identify, qualify and reach out to financial and/or strategic buyers, negotiate the business terms of the sale and assist the parties in due diligence through closing. Dave also provides advisory services such as expert witness consulting and works with business owners to better prepare their business for sale in the future. Prior to becoming a business intermediary, Dave had a successful 10-year career in operations and project management at leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer. Dave earned an MBA in Business Management from Pepperdine University and a BS in Real Estate and Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University.

Greg Howe
Business Intermediairy
Greg is a licensed real estate sales agent with over 25 years business experience. Greg brings a unique combination of business and legal experience and knowledge to Keystone. He not only has an MBA from UCLA, but a law degree from Loyola Marymount University. He has worked at and consulted with start-up companies such as Amgen at its infancy; mid-size companies such as Amada America, Inc.; and Fortune 500 companies such as Johnson and Johnson. As an attorney he has helped create and formulate companies such as Biosource International, Inc. This experience and knowledge provides Greg with the ability to best analyze and situate a company for sale. He also has a strong base of qualified business buyers. Greg is a Vietnam era veteran and has lived in the conejo valley for over 5 years. He is a member of the Thousand Oaks chamber of commerce.

Mark Richard
Business Intermediary
Mark Richard is a licensed California real estate sales agent with over 15 years experience in the consumer products industry. Before becoming a business broker, Mark built his career in strategic brand marketing and product development, having worked in both direct response and traditional retail channels. He has successfully launched dozens of health, beauty and fitness products and line extensions. Before his career in consumer products, Mark was a producer and general manager of Broadway and off-Broadway plays and musicals in New York, on tour and in Los Angeles. Conejo Valley parents may also recognize Mark from his work on the field and on the court as a football, baseball and basketball official in numerous youth and high school leagues in the area. He has an MFA from the Yale School of Drama and a BA from Brown University.

Bob has nearly 15 years of business and entrepreneurial experience in Internet technology, computer software and accessories. Before joining KeyStone, Bob founded and successfully sold his own computer accessories company. From 1995 to 2005, he has held various senior sales and key account management positions with prominent and successful Internet technology companies including Global Crossing, Akamai Technologies & Omniture (previously WebSideStory). He is licensed business broker and holds a B.S. in Finance from California State University Northridge.

Jeff Culbreath is an experienced business intermediary serving our clients in Northern California. He specializes in the sale of manufacturing, distribution, and light industrial enterprises with attention to ensuring the smoothest possible transition to new ownership. Jeff established Sacramento’s first Minuteman Press franchise in 2003 and quickly achieved profitability, focusing on direct mail advertising for financial services and marketing for non-profit organizations. He is a licensed real estate sales agent and holds a B.A. in Economics from California State University, Sacramento. Born in Santa Barbara and a fourth generation Californian, Jeff makes his home near the beautiful city of Chico.
